DAMS: Congratulations on securing a good ranks. What is the secret of
your success in this exam?
Dr. Aamir: Nothing but Hardwork, determination and of course the support from my
friends and family. Joining DAMS was a turning point.
DAMS: How did your parents, family and friends contribute to your
success?
Dr. Aamir: Supported me in each and every step.
DAMS: Who influenced you to take up Medicine?
Dr. Aamir: It was my decision, to some extent my mother.
DAMS: We appreciate the fact that preparing for an extremely competitive
exam must be really challenging. During your preparation, did you ever doubt
your ability to succeed in it?
Dr. Aamir: Yes!! .... Many a times, but it didn’t stop me from doing hard work.
DAMS: Which books did you read
for the theory part?
Dr. Aamir: Class notes, last year papers (just Q+A).
DAMS: Which books did you read for MCQ revision? Which revision books
were the most productive and which were least?
Dr. Aamir: All subject
wise books were really of no use, just the class notes.
DAMS: How important you think was DAMS in your preparation?
Dr. Aamir: As I already mentioned, it was a turning point I’m thankful to the
entire teacher here in DAMS.
DAMS: What do you think is the better way of preparation between
selective, intensive study and wide, extensive study? What did you choose as
your style of studying?
Dr. Aamir: Revision of class notes again & again till you are through with
it...and the test (SWT+GT) organized by DAMS sincerely.
DAMS: Indian PG entrances are highly competitive so to compete them
students end up in appearing in multiple PG exams , kindly extend your views on
this and also their pros and cons of appearing in multiple PG entrances .
Dr. Aamir: I would suggest all the students preparing for entrance to sit for all
the exams because each exam is different
you never know...
DAMS: Which subjects did you focus on?
Dr. Aamir: The major subjects-Medicine, Surgery, G+O but the subjects like Radio,
Anaesthesia holds the key.
DAMS: What was your strategy for the exam day? How many questions did
you attempt and why?
Dr. Aamir: I tried to attempt the maximum no. of questions logical guesswork did
wonder for me.
DAMS: What do you want to specialize in, why and where?
Dr. Aamir: Neuro-surgery, or any surgical branch from AIIMS, but I won’t mind doing
surgery from other colleges.
DAMS: Which teachers in DAMS influenced you most and what do you like
about DAMS and would recommend to your juniors?
Dr. Aamir: All the Teachers are just wonderful specially OBG mam for her immense
support and finely updates. Sumer sir for his encouraging words.
Surgery sir, Pharma sir & PSM sir
for their extensive classes and their notes.
DAMS exclusive club was again of great
help.
