Dr Navin Mewada did his MBBS and joined DAMS Regular Course in 2011


DAMS: Congratulations on securing a 2nd rank in Gujarat P.G 2011. What is the secret of your success in this exam?
Dr Navin Mewada : Hard work, self determinastion , good planning and regular revisions


DAMS: How did your parents, family and friends contribute to your success?
Dr Navin Mewada:- My grandma my parents, brothers and friends were always with me. They kept on helping me to go through this though one year of my internship. And helped me to keep on going


DAMS: Who influenced you to take up Medicine?
Dr Navin Mewada:- I always dreamt to become a good doctor and do some good to society

Further I was encouraged by my nanaji and mamaji


DAMS: We appreciate the fact that preparing for an extremely competitive exam must be really challenging. During your preparation, did you ever doubt your ability to succeed in it?
Dr Navin Mewada :- Ya at times but my passion never let me go down


DAMS: Which books did you read for the theory part?
Dr Navin Mewada:- Patho Robbins, kdt for Pharma, Park Psm, for Obs and Gynecologypart I had read Punit Bhojani , which was highly productive, Radiology Dr.Sumer


DAMS : Which books did you read for MCQ revision? Which revision books were the most productive and which were least?
Dr Navin Mewada :- Since I had read text books thoroughly during my mbbs period so I did not spend much in them during my P.G preparation

I relied more on mcq books, popularly known as “doule a” and “across”

Medicine and surgery Amit Ashish were really good
ACROSS FOR 1ST year subjects was good but not so productive for minor subjects

For minors dams class notes and d supplements

Finally Pasts papers of mk and aa were an indispensable ingridient for my pg enterance preparation “aaa” for state pg was really helpful.


DAMS : How important you think was DAMS in your preparation ?
Dr Navin Mewada :- I had joind dams durind my internship and

DAMS classes was d place were I regularly got my boost ups.

During his first lecture dr. sumeer had adviced us to take all regular tests as our final pg exams. I always tried my best in these tests.

The dams test were always in accordace with the pg exam trends
The class notes were a real help during preparation and my last week’s revision


DAMS: What do you think is the better way of preparation between selective, intensive study and wide, extensive study? What did you choose as your style of studying?
Dr Navin Mewada: Wide and extensive studies according to me is to be done during mbbs period.
Its important to read standard books like Harrison and robins

But during pg preparations one has to b selective .
I had always tried to read thorghly d topic which were frequenty asksd in last 7 to 8 years

Regular revisions was the key to my good rank.


DAMS: Indian PG entrances are highly competitive so to compete them students end up in appearing in multiple PG exams , kindly extend your views on this and also their pros and cons of appearing in multiple PG entrances .
Dr Navin Mewada:- life and preparation both becomes simple if one focuses on one or two xams only
One can always give other xams to vent away the phobia of entrance exams


DAMS: Which subjects did you focus on?
Dr Navin Mewada;- Physio, biochem,2nd yr subjects, PSM , minors,and Obs


DAMS: What was your strategy for the exam day? How many questions did you attempt and why?
Dr Navin Mewada:- To b frank I was always up with a new strategy for my final day.

I always practicd them during my grand tests.

My final plan was to attempt at least 90 percent of the que.

In all india I attemted 290out of 300 and in state 198 out of 200


DAMS: What do you want to specialize in, why and whise?
Dr Navin Mewada :- It has been my dream to practice ortho.


DAMS: Which teachiss in DAMS influenced you most and what do you like about DAMS and would recommend to your juniors?
