Dr Shaikh Fahim did his MBBS from MGM, MC, Aurangabad and joined DAMS T/D Regd no: 21/2011.
He secured Rank 32 IN AIIMS November 2011 Exam
DAMS: Congratulations on securing a good ranks. What is the secret of your success in this exam?
Dr Shaikh fahim: ALHAMDULILLAH ,First i thank almighty.
Consistency, hard work and evaluation were the keys.
DAMS: How did y:our parents, family and friends contribute to your success?
Dr Shaikh fahim: My family(specially mother),My teachers, my seniors and juniors.
DAMS: Who influenced you to take up Medicine?
Dr Shaikh fahim: Initially It was by chance, later it becomes my choice.
DAMS: We appreciate the fact that preparing for an extremely competitive exam must be really challenging. During your preparation, did you ever doubt your ability to succeed in it?
Dr Shaikh fahim: Obviously, Throughout the year, I was just fluctuating between extremes “THE DOUBTS AND CONFIDENCE”
DAMS: Which books did you read for the theory part?
Dr Shaikh fahim: For the reference purpose, medicine(Harrison), Pathology(Robbin’s), Obstetrics(DUTTA), physiology(Ganong) and Pharm(KDT)
DAMS : Which books did you read for MCQ revision? Which revision books were the most productive and which were least?
Dr Shaikh fahim: MK(AI), AA (AIIMS), AA(Medicine, surgery) Arvind.A(pharm,micro,radio)
DAMS : How important you think was DAMS in your preparation ?
Dr Shaikh fahim: As yesterday i was in DAMS .................
..................Today i am in AIIMS.
DAMS: What do you think is the better way of preparation between selective, intensive study and wide, extensive study? What did you choose as your style of studying?
Dr Shaikh fahim: Selective and Intensive
DAMS: Indian PG entrances are highly competitive so to compete them students end up in appearing in multiple PG exams , kindly extend your views on this and also their pros and cons of appearing in multiple PG entrances .
Dr Shaikh fahim: Basic thing, one should target best exams(All India and STATE-PG) but don’t miss any exam .Give every exam for getting Rank.
DAMS: Which subjects did you focus on?
Dr Shaikh fahim: -Medicine, surgery, Patho, Pharma and OBGY.
-SARP And PSM are realy scoring
DAMS: What was your strategy for the exam day? How many questions did you attempt and why?
Dr Shaikh fahim: It was pre planned “I have to attempt maximum”
I attempted 198 questions as i attempt a question
I can rule out one option
DAMS: What do you want to specialize in, why and where?
Dr Shaikh fahim: General surgery or general medicine in dream institute AIIMS
DAMS: Which teachers in DAMS influenced you most and what do you like about DAMS and would recommend to your juniors?
Dr Shaikh fahim: DR TIWARI (surg), DR SUMER (radiology) DR SWATI (anaest), DR SIDDHARTH (paed),DR.RUCHI(opthm), DR ARORA(ENT), DR RAJEEV (psy) and (anatomy and skin)
