They all were my stress busters. Friends (AMANDEEP & AIKAJ) helped a lot by discussing the things that usually create confusion when mugged up. Family helped me to keep going without taking stress. My mother helped me a lot when I was in stress at the time I couldn’t make it into AIIMS NOV2011.

My chachaji holds a special share in my success as he always supported me.

DAMS: Who influenced you to take up Medicine?
Dr.Nitin Sood:
My Bua Ms. SANGEETA SOOD influenced me a lot throughout my life.

DAMS: We appreciate the fact that preparing for an extremely competitive exam must be really challenging. During your preparation, did you ever doubt your ability to succeed in it?

YES every single moment got spent in doubts, but keep going without taking much stress is the golden rule to clear pg entrance.

DAMS: Which books did you read for the theory part?
Dr.Nitin Sood:
I read regular textbooks during college time but during pg preparation I used to read only the last 7 yr topics from all standard text books.

Dr.Nitin Sood:
Helped a lot by covering the most imp topics, probable future questions, Addition of all the changes in the recent editions of the standard text that is targeted by the examiners. In fact Dams faculty has the ability to predict new questions DAMS GT are very good & indispensible part of my preparation.

DAMS: What do you think is the better way of preparation between selective, intensive study and wide, extensive study? What did you choose as your style of studying?
Dr.Nitin Sood:
Selective intensive study is the best way.

DAMS: Indian PG entrances are highly competitive so to compete them students end up in appearing in multiple PG exams , kindly extend your views on this and also their pros and cons of appearing in multiple PG entrances .
Dr.Nitin Sood:
Always try to give as many tests as u can give, it helps to overcome the exam phobia.

DAMS: Which subjects did you focus on?
Dr.Nitin Sood:
Path, Pharma, Micro, Forensic, Medicine, Opthal, Radio, Skin, Anaesthesia, Psm

DAMS: What was your strategy for the exam day? How many questions did you attempt and why?
Dr.Nitin Sood:
I LEFT STUDYING A DAY BEFORE THE EXAM, slept for 7hrs, a moderate breakfast, left all the controls upto god & thought to give it my best shot, not to waste much time on long story based questions & divided the paper in three rounds
Round1: attempt the question that I was sure of
Round2: attempt those questions that I had to think a little btw two options
Round3: long story based questions n the leftovers.
I attempted 280/300 in AIPGMEE & 190/200 in state pg

DAMS: What do you want to specialize in, why and where?
Dr.Nitin Sood:

DAMS: Which teachers in DAMS influenced you most and what do you like about DAMS and would recommend to your juniors?
