Interview with our topper Dr. Nilofar Noor
Dr.Nilofar Noor did her MBBS from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal
and joined DAMS Regd no DL04670
She secured Rank 20 IN AIIMS Nov 2012 Exam
DAMS: Congratulations on securing a good ranks. What is the secret of your success in this exam?
Dr.Nilofar Noor:
Thank you very much! The secret is lot of blessings and prayers from my family, dedicated teaching by my college professors, lot of help and support from my friends and lot of hard work on my part.
DAMS: How did your parents, family and friends contribute to your success?
Dr.Nilofar Noor:
They played a key role! I could never have done any of it without their undying support and blessings!
DAMS: Who influenced you to take up Medicine?
Dr.Nilofar Noor:
I had always wanted to take up medicine and my family was a huge support system.
DAMS: We appreciate the fact that preparing for an extremely competitive exam must be really challenging. During your preparation, did you ever doubt your ability to succeed in it?
Dr.Nilofar Noor:
Many times...but family and friends encouraged me to remain focused.
DAMS:  Which books did you read for the theory part?
Dr.Nilofar Noor:
Not during preparation but during MBBS I had studied Davidson, bailey and love, Robbins, Ghai...etc.
DAMS: Which books did you read for MCQ revision? Which revision books were the most productive and which were least?
Dr.Nilofar Noor:
MK and AA were the most productive...I also liked Garg for Pharma and Patho and did across for short subjects.

DAMS: How important you think was DAMS in your preparation?
Dr.Nilofar Noor:
DAMS combo series helped me prepare on a regular basis and direct my preparation...grand tests give an idea as to where you stand and whether you are on the right track.
DAMS: What do you think is the better way of preparation between selective, intensive study and wide, extensive study? What did you choose as your style of studying?
Dr.Nilofar Noor:
selective intensive studying.
DAMS: Indian PG entrances are highly competitive so to compete them students end up in appearing in multiple PG exams , kindly extend your views on this and also their pros and cons of appearing in multiple PG entrances .
Dr.Nilofar Noor:
Multiple exams give multiple opportunities to do well...so if one day you are unlucky all is not lost...
DAMS: Which subjects did you focus on?
Dr.Nilofar Noor:
Pharma, Patho, PSM, Micro and 1st yr subjects.
DAMS: What was your strategy for the exam day? How many questions did you attempt and why?
Dr.Nilofar Noor:
I had planned to attempt more than 195...I had attempted 199.
DAMS: Which teachers in DAMS influenced you most and what do you like about DAMS and would recommend to your juniors?
Dr.Nilofar Noor:
I found Sumer Sethi sir’s advice that he used to update on DAMS website very useful...the way he always encouraged students was very inspiring and instilled confidence in me!!
