Interview with our topper Dr. Sohail Ahmed

He has cleared the MCI Dec 2015 exam

DAMS: Congratulation on securing a top rank in MCI Screening. What is the secret of your success in this exam?

Dr. Sohail: Hard labour through study & time to time revision of main subjects with one/two short subject.

DAMS: How did your parents, family and friends contribute to your success?

Dr. Sohail: They contributed by their belief, confidence on me.

DAMS: Who influenced you?

Dr. Sohail: I influenced by my father.

DAMS: We appreciate the fact that preparing for an extremely competitive exam must be really challenging. During your preparation, did you ever doubt your ability to succeed in it?

Dr. Sohail: Yes, I do not ever over confident of my success. I just put on my 100% once & got the result.

DAMS: Which notes did you read for the theory part?

Dr. Sohail:  DAMS notes especially for OBG, surgery, ENT, Anatomy, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Biochem & Dr. Sumer Sethi sir’s Radiology notes are very good. Thanks to all DAMS faculties.

DAMS: Which books did you read for MCQ revision? Which revision books were the most productive and which were least?

Dr. Sohail: DAMS notes, PROAFS, DNB ques bank.

DAMS: How important you think was DAMS in your preparation?

Dr. Sohail: It was very important in my preparation & notes of DAMS are specific & no match with the other notes.

DAMS: What do you think is the batter way of preparation between selective, intensive and wide, extensive study? What did you choose as your style of studying?

Dr. Sohail: In starting of my preparation I preferred extensive study & during my last days went with selective study. But revision was most important.

                                                                                                   

DAMS: Which subjects did you focus on?

Dr. Sohail: I focused mainly PSM, OBG, ENT, Anatomy, Physio, and Biochem. In Profs mainly Radio, Ortho, FMT.

DAMS: What was your strategy for the exam day? How many questions did you attempt and why?

Dr. Sohail: My strategy was to go for the sure short answer in my first round & then go for the next other confident answers.

DAMS: What do you want to specialize in, why and where?

Dr. Sohail: I want to be a Pediatrics (H.D) in my future & treat the new ones.
