Dr Shubham Vatsya:- They always kept me going....whenever i was down or disappointed they encouraged me n made me feel good....thats realy important coz while preparing for pg enterance u face a lot of obstacles
DAMS: Who influenced you to take up Medicine?
Dr Shubham Vatsya:- My Parents...both of them r doctors n it was their dream to make me one...
DAMS: We appreciate the fact that preparing for an extremely competitive exam must be really challenging. During your preparation, did you ever doubt your ability to succeed in it?
Dr Shubham Vatsya :- There were times when u feel discouraged n u tend to doubt
DAMS: Which books did you read for the theory part?
Dr Shubham Vatsya :- Anat- bdc,physio-ganong,biochem-harper,path-robbins,pharma-katzung n kdt,micro-ananthnarayan,medicine- Harrison,surgery – schwartz n sabiston,paeds-ghai,obg-dutta
DAMS : Which books did you read for MCQ revision? Which revision books were the most productive and which were least?
Dr Shubham Vatsya :-Amit Aashish n Mudit Khanna were most productive n r d best for revision
DAMS : How important you think was DAMS in your preparation ?
Dr Shubham Vatsya:- It helps u to stay in constant touch wid subjects n for intensive revision n for extra n new facts
DAMS: What do you think is the better way of preparation between selective, intensive study and wide, extensive study? What did you choose as your style of studying?
Dr Shubham Vatsya :-According to me its best to do extensive study before internship n selective n intensive during internship...i followed this during my preparation
DAMS: Indian PG entrances are highly competitive so to compete them students end up in appearing in multiple PG exams , kindly extend your views on this and also their pros and cons of appearing in multiple PG entrances .
Dr Shubham Vatsya : Its better to give multiple exams coz sometimes u have a bad day n u screw up ur exam...it happened to me in AIIMS nov 2010 wen i was very well prepared but due to anxiety n nervousness i had a very bad day....so its best to give multiple exams
DAMS: Which subjects did you focus on?
Dr Shubham Vatsya:- My path pharma micro medicine n PSM were very very strong...they helped me to get top ranks
DAMS: What was your strategy for the exam day? How many questions did you attempt and why?
Dr Shubham Vatsya:- In aipg i attempted 299 n in
DAMS: What do you want to specialize in, why and where?
Dr Shubham Vatsya:- I have chosen MD INTERNAL MEDICINE from
DAMS: Which teachers in DAMS influenced you most and what do you like about DAMS and would recommend to your juniors?
Dr Shubham Vatsya :- I was modt influenced by Dr. Sumer Sethi...i was awestruck by the knowledge of his plus his ability to predict ques n topics wch can come in next yr pg enterances....
