DAMS: Congratulations on securing a good ranks. What is the secret of your success in this exam?
Dr.Pandey Niraj N. : There is no secret as such..perseverance and maximum number of revisions surely helped though..
DAMS: How did y:our parents, family and friends contribute to your success?
Dr.Pandey Niraj N. : They were always there for me, through all trials and tribulations. No doubt, they have played a substantial role right through my preparation period. Most importantly,perhaps, they had more faith in me than myself.. THANKS A LOT!!!
DAMS: Who influenced you to take up Medicine?
Dr.Pandey Niraj N. : Seeing all the successful doctors around me.
DAMS: We appreciate the fact that preparing for an extremely competitive exam must be really challenging. During your preparation, did you ever doubt your ability to succeed in it?
Dr.Pandey Niraj N. : No. Its important to formulate a plan and then back yourself right till the end. Even an iota of doubt can be fatalistic for our aims.
DAMS: Which books did you read for the theory part?
Dr.Pandey Niraj N. : I coudnt really find the time during my internship for reading the text books. However whatever i could recollect from my MBBS days surely helped.
DAMS : Which books did you read for MCQ revision? Which revision books were the most productive and which were least?
Dr.Pandey Niraj N. :AA and ACROSS for short subjects..
DAMS : How important you think was DAMS in your preparation ?
Dr.Pandey Niraj N. : The tests put forth by DAMS actually got me acquainted with the existing pattern of questions along with, most importantly, predicting future trends.
DAMS: What do you think is the better way of preparation between selective, intensive study and wide, extensive study? What did you choose as your style of studying?
Dr.Pandey Niraj N. : Wide extensive is better among the two. The same was followed by me.
DAMS: Indian PG entrances are highly competitive so to compete them students end up in appearing in multiple PG exams , kindly extend your views on this and also their pros and cons of appearing in multiple PG entrances .
Dr.Pandey Niraj N. : definitely, no cons.. its important to take these exams, may be, as a match practice before appearing for the exams you are most hopeful to crack.
DAMS: Which subjects did you focus on?
Dr.Pandey Niraj N. : FMT, PSM, MEDICINE
DAMS: What was your strategy for the exam day? How many questions did you attempt and why?
Dr.Pandey Niraj N. : stay cool and attempt maximum questions (employ educated guesses).
DAMS: What do you want to specialize in, why and where?
Dr.Pandey Niraj N. : MD Internal Medicine (KEM Hospital, Mumbai) something i always wanted to do right from my MBBS days
DAMS: Which teachers in DAMS influenced you most and what do you like about DAMS and would recommend to your juniors?
Dr.Pandey Niraj N. : the test series will surely pay you rich dividends and recommend it to all the future aspirants.
