DAMS: Congratulations on securing a good ranks. What is the secret of your success in this exam?
Dr.Bhandari Gurbir Singh: Hard work, support from my family
DAMS: How did y:our parents, family and friends contribute to your success?
Dr.Bhandari Gurbir Singh: By encouraging me in my difficult times and being there always for me
DAMS: Who influenced you to take up Medicine?
Dr.Bhandari Gurbir Singh: It was a very spontaneous decision
DAMS: We appreciate the fact that preparing for an extremely competitive exam must be really challenging. During your preparation, did you ever doubt your ability to succeed in it?
Dr.Bhandari Gurbir Singh: Sometimes
DAMS: Which books did you read for the theory part?
Dr.Bhandari Gurbir Singh: I read Harrison for Medicine, Bailey for Surgery, D.C Dutta for OBS & Gynae and O.P.Ghai for paediatrics.
DAMS : Which books did you read for MCQ revision? Which revision books were the most productive and which were least?
Dr.Bhandari Gurbir Singh: books like Mudit Khanna for Medicine, Amit Aashish for Surgery, Chaurasia for Micro, Gobind Rai for Pharma
DAMS : How important you think was DAMS in your preparation ?
Dr.Bhandari Gurbir Singh: Test series was very useful as it speeds up the preparation
DAMS: What do you think is the better way of preparation between selective, intensive study and wide, extensive study? What did you choose as your style of studying?
Dr.Bhandari Gurbir Singh: Intensive study
DAMS: Indian PG entrances are highly competitive so to compete them students end up in appearing in multiple PG exams , kindly extend your views on this and also their pros and cons of appearing in multiple PG entrances .
Dr.Bhandari Gurbir Singh: people must concentrate on All India and respective State PGETS more often
DAMS: Which subjects did you focus on?
Dr.Bhandari Gurbir Singh: MEDICINE, OBSTETRICS AND GYNAECOLOGY, SPM, PHARMACOLOGY and SHORT SUBJECTS
DAMS: What was your strategy for the exam day? How many questions did you attempt and why?
Dr.Bhandari Gurbir Singh: As there was no negative marking so i attempted all the questions carefully doing one at a moment and attemting each question very carefully
DAMS: What do you want to specialize in, why and where?
Dr.Bhandari Gurbir Singh: MEDICINE because it is my favourite subject and currently i want to do it in DMC&H LUDHIANA
DAMS: Which teachers in DAMS influenced you most and what do you like about DAMS and would recommend to your juniors?
Dr.Bhandari Gurbir Singh: I joined only test series so i didn’t have much interaction with the teachers but definitely it helps a lot by increasing the speed of your preparation
