Dr. Sambuddha Dhar:
Thanks a lot!!!! God!!My parents!! DAMS!!!My friends and last but not least DAMS Exclusive Club...

DAMS: How did your parents, family and friends contribute to your success?
Dr. Sambuddha Dhar:
My parents and friends had been a strong driving force for me!!!!Last year was a great setback in my life when in the month of November - January i was going through a serious ailment!!It took me full 6 months to survive the ordeal...during the ailment I thought I’ll never be able to crack a seat again!!!But thanks to god and parents I could take up my books again and could continue my studies till JIPMER Entrance..

DAMS: Who influenced you to take up Medicine?
Dr. Sambuddha Dhar:
I was always personally interested in the subject from my childhood

DAMS: We appreciate the fact that preparing for an extremely competitive exam must be really challenging. During your preparation, did you ever doubt your ability to succeed in it?
Dr. Sambuddha Dhar:
Yes I doubted it last year!!!rather i was kind a sure I’ll remain MBBS forever...

DAMS:  Which books did you read for the theory part?
Dr. Sambuddha Dhar:
DAMS notes, ROAMS, Gobindrai Garg, AA-medicine

DAMS : Which books did you read for MCQ revision? Which revision books were the most productive and which were least?
Dr. Sambuddha Dhar:
AA/MK for mcq revision...MOST PRODUCTIVE-DAMS NOTES AND ROAMS

DAMS : How important you think was DAMS in your preparation ?
Dr. Sambuddha Dhar:
DAMS showed me the path...gave me confidence....

DAMS: What do you think is the better way of preparation between selective, intensive study and wide, extensive study? What did you choose as your style of studying?
Dr. Sambuddha Dhar:
Selective intensive study

DAMS: Indian PG entrances are highly competitive so to compete them students end up in appearing in multiple PG exams , kindly extend your views on this and also their pros and cons of appearing in multiple PG entrances .
Dr. Sambuddha Dhar:
I appeared for five exams...PGI, AIIMS, JIPMER, NEET, DNB....one back up for the other....i guess preparing for multiple exams and writing the same...increases our confidence and preparation...because many a time questions from one exam gets repeated in some other...

DAMS: Which subjects did you focus on?
Dr. Sambuddha Dhar:
1st and 2nd year subjects...Anesthesia...as these subjects are more memory based!!!!So revising them is very important to retain them!!!

DAMS: What was your strategy for the exam day? How many questions did you attempt and why?
Dr. Sambuddha Dhar:
I thought I’ll not leave any!!!but still I had to leave three as about them i had no idea...but i think i should not have attempted so many!!!got quite a few negatives....much more than people below my rank....so i wrongly strategized for JIPMER....

DAMS: What do you want to specialize in, why and where?
Dr. Sambuddha Dhar:
Will most likely take up ent or surgery....depending on availability....eagerly waiting for NEET results...till then deciding anything is difficult..

DAMS: Which teachers in DAMS influenced you most and what do you like about DAMS and would recommend to your juniors?
Dr. Sambuddha Dhar:
Sumer sir, Surgery’s sir, ENT’s sir, Paeds’s sir, anatomy sir, Physiology mam...were extraordinary!!!Most striking feature about dams was they are very student friendly......i would definitely recommend DAMS to my juniors....
