Interview with our topper Dr. Shantanu Kumar Gupta
Dr. Shantanu Kumar Gupta did his MBBS from UCMS, DELHI and joined DAMS
He secured Rank 91 IN AIIMS Exam
DAMS: Congratulations on securing a good ranks. What is the secret of your success in this exam?

Dr. Shantanu Kumar Gupta: Just concentrate on basics, a bit of luck and the most important GOD'S grace. I wish god is kind enough to me in the upcoming exams and counseling.
DAMS: How did your parents, family and friends contribute to your success?
Dr. Shantanu Kumar Gupta: Parents were throughout supportive at every stage and a wonderful bunch of friends are always good to study with.
DAMS: Who influenced you to take up Medicine?
Dr. Shantanu Kumar Gupta: My Dad and my other family members in this field.
DAMS: We appreciate the fact that preparing for an extremely competitive exam must be really challenging. During your preparation, did you ever doubt your ability to succeed in it?
Dr. Shantanu Kumar Gupta: Obviously such periods are bound to come, so just be positive and face the challenge.
DAMS:  Which books did you read for the theory part?
Dr. Shantanu Kumar Gupta: Just the very basic book every MBBS student studies.
DAMS: Which books did you read for MCQ revision? Which revision books were the most productive and which were least?
Dr. Shantanu Kumar Gupta: Subject wise books and 2 volumes of Mk AA

DAMS: How important you think was DAMS in your preparation ?
Dr. Shantanu Kumar Gupta: A lot with their awesome online test series
DAMS: What do you think is the better way of preparation between selective, intensive study and wide, extensive study? What did you choose as your style of studying?
Dr. Shantanu Kumar Gupta: Selective and just basic concepts.
DAMS: Indian PG entrances are highly competitive so to compete them students end up in appearing in multiple PG exams , kindly extend your views on this and also their pros and cons of appearing in multiple PG entrances .
Dr. Shantanu Kumar Gupta: Its always better to appear for multiple exams because each day your luck varies.
DAMS: Which subjects did you focus on?
Dr. Shantanu Kumar Gupta: 2nd year and short subjects.
DAMS: What was your strategy for the exam day? How many questions did you attempt and why?
Dr. Shantanu Kumar Gupta: Just give the exam with an open mind and don’t panic. I attempted 197 but I think I over attempted but around 180-190 is a descent attempt.
DAMS: What do you want to specialize in, why and where?
Dr. Shantanu Kumar Gupta: I want to specialize in Ophthalmology just like my dad. But in the end it all depends on what rank you get and how much you compromise.
DAMS: Which teachers in DAMS influenced you most and what do you like about DAMS and would recommend to your juniors?
Dr. Shantanu Kumar Gupta: I was an online test series student. Just trust yourself and study hard and be clear about what you are studying, and how much can you reproduce what you are studying.
