Dr. Prateek R. Punyani did his BDS from VSPM DCRC, Nagpur,
and joined DAMS
He secured Rank 50 IN AIPGE MDS (Dental) 2014 Exam

DAMS: Congratulations on securing a  good  ranks. What is the secret of your success in this exam?
Dr. Prateek:
Thank you ! Hardwork, determination & self belief along god’s grace helped me sail through AIPGE.
DAMS: How did your parents, family and friends contribute to your success?
Dr. Prateek:
My mother & sister are the most important people in my life who always supported me & believed in me.
DAMS: Who influenced you to take up Dentistry?
Dr. Prateek:
It was my sister.
DAMS: We appreciate the fact that preparing for an extremely competitive exam must be really challenging. During your preparation, did you ever doubt your ability to succeed in it?
Dr. Prateek:
Yes the doubts always creep in due to such fierce, competition but holding your nerves in critical time is a best key.
DAMS:  Which books did you read for the theory part?
Dr. Prateek:
Retro pattern of the study is very important. Books like Mcdonal & cohen are very important for some important & relevant topics.
DAMS : Which books did you read for MCQ revision? Which revision books were the most productive and which were least?
Dr. Prateek:
MCQ books available in market. Find your own answers for questions from standard book. Until any authentic book comes in the market.
DAMS: How important you think was DAMS in your preparation ?
Dr. Prateek:
DAMS was very important, they supported me with all the material and data & their exclusive club on FB was very helpful.
DAMS: What do you think is the better way of preparation between selective, intensive study and wide, extensive study? What did you choose as your style of studying?
Dr. Prateek:
Relevant topics form standard books is very important along repeat questions & subject wise study.
DAMS: Indian PG entrances are highly competitive so to compete them students end up in appearing in multiple PG exams, kindly extend your views on this and also their pros and cons of appearing in multiple PG entrances .
Dr. Prateek:
Every exam has a different pattern of questions being asked. So following the pattern is very important. State exams are very factual & AIPGE is very different & competitive.
DAMS: Which subjects did you focus on?
Dr. Prateek:
Dental subjects like OS & Endo are very important. Basic subjects like Anatomy & Patho are very important.
DAMS: What was your strategy for the exam day? How many questions did you attempt and why?
Dr. Prateek:
190 attempted, always it is very important in AIPGE to be in a safe bracket of 180-190.
DAMS: What do you want to specialize in, why and where?
Dr. Prateek:
Orthodontics.
DAMS: Which teachers in DAMS influenced you most and what do you like about DAMS and would recommend to your juniors?
Dr. Prateek:
All DAMS MDS Quest Team. Yes, DAMS is very helpful for students. There constant support & guidance is very important for any students during tough times & will recommended all my juniors to join DAMS.
