Interview with our topper Dr. Saba Samad Memon
Dr. Saba Samad Memon did her MBBS from SGSMC and joined DAMS
She  secured  Rank 1 IN AIPGE & MAHCET Exam (2013-2014)

 DAMS: Congratulations on securing a good  ranks. What is the secret of your success in this exam?
Dr.Saba:  
Thanks! The secret is consistent hard work, revision. God’s blessings, cool mind at the time of exam and DAMS.
DAMS: How did your parents, family and friends contribute to your success?
Dr.Saba:
My parents form the backbone of my preparation. It’s their prayers and relentless support contributed to my success. Group discussion with friends also helped.
DAMS: Who influenced you to take up Medicine?
Dr.Saba:  
The unfortunate event of my grandmother having myocardial infarction & lack of good doctors in Vasai. The place I grew up made me think of medicine as a career.
DAMS: We appreciate the fact that preparing for an extremely competitive exam must be really challenging. During your preparation, did you ever doubt your ability to succeed in it?
Dr.Saba:  
Yes it does happen. But consistent revision, giving tests really helped.
DAMS:  Which books did you read for the theory part?
Dr.Saba:  
Theory part I had covered in MBBS years – park, ghai, dhingra, Harrison.
DAMS : Which books did you read for MCQ revision? Which revision books were the most productive and which were least?
Dr.Saba:  
Across vol 1& 2, AA.
DAMS : How important you think was DAMS in your preparation ?
Dr.Saba:  
It had helped me focus on which topics to study solved my doubts and made my notes more complete.
DAMS: What do you think is the better way of preparation between selective, intensive study and wide, extensive study? What did you choose as your style of studying?
Dr.Saba:  
Selective intensive during internship and wide extensive during MBBS study.
DAMS: Indian PG entrances are highly competitive so to compete them students end up in appearing in multiple PG exams , kindly extend your views on this and also their pros and cons of appearing in multiple PG entrances .
Dr.Saba:  
Every exam basically tests the same knowledge only the approach to each matter. So long as various exams are adequately spaced. Each exam will be a revision of all your subjects and so should be given.
DAMS: Which subjects did you focus on?
Dr.Saba:
Pathology, Pharmacology, Physiology & PSM.
DAMS: What was your strategy for the exam day? How many questions did you attempt and why?
Dr.Saba:
A good sleep previous night, calm mind. Take one question at a time. I attempted all the question as there was no negative marking.
DAMS: What do you want to specialize in, why and where?
Dr.Saba:  
MD Medicine because in interest me.
DAMS: Which teachers in DAMS influenced you most and what do you like about DAMS and would recommend to your juniors?
Dr.Saba:
Dr. Sumer Sethi, surgery sir, the faculty of Anatomy, Pathology, Pharmacology, ENT influenced me the most I would definitely recommend DAMS to juniors.
