Interview with DAMS Topper Dr. Aditi Chaturvedi Rank-1 AIPGE & May AIIMS 2012

Dr. Aditi Chaturvedi did her MBBS from Seth GSMC & KEMH & joined DAMS MUMBAI

She secured Rank 1 IN AIIMS May 2012, AIPGME 2012 JIPMER Exam & Rank 3 in MHCET

DAMS: Congratulations on securing a good ranks. What is the secret of your success in this exam?
Dr.Aditi Chaturvedi:
God’s blessings, support of family of friends, and regular hard work

DAMS: How did y:our parents, family and friends contribute to your success?
Dr.Aditi Chaturvedi:
Their belief of encouragement was of paramount importance

DAMS: Who influenced you to take up Medicine?
Dr.Aditi Chaturvedi:
My family

DAMS: We appreciate the fact that preparing for an extremely competitive exam must be really challenging. During your preparation, did you ever doubt your ability to succeed in it?
Dr.Aditi Chaturvedi:
Multiple times, but optimism prevailed

DAMS: Which books did you read for the theory part?
Dr.Aditi Chaturvedi:
I read standard text books like Robbins, Harrisions, Bailey & love during 4.5 years of MBBS

DAMS : Which books did you read for MCQ revision? Which revision books were the most productive and which were least?
Dr.Aditi Chaturvedi:
AA & MK for previous AIPGMEE of AIIMS papers Gobind Garg for Pharma, Arvind Arora for Patho Across was Least Productive.


DAMS : How important you think was DAMS in your preparation ?
Dr.Aditi Chaturvedi:
It played the key role of guiding me during the most crucial year of internship

DAMS: What do you think is the better way of preparation between selective, intensive study and wide, extensive study? What did you choose as your style of studying?
Dr.Aditi Chaturvedi:
Wide extensive study is important during 4.5 year of MBBS but during internship, I preferred selective, intensive study.

DAMS: Indian PG entrances are highly competitive so to compete them students end up in appearing in multiple PG exams , kindly extend your views on this and also their pros and cons of appearing in multiple PG entrances .
Dr.Aditi Chaturvedi:
I appeared for 3 exams- AIPGMEE, MHCET of JIPMER. Advantage of multiple exams is that it gives you a second chance Disadvantage is that it may become a bit hectic for the students.

DAMS: Which subjects did you focus on?
Dr.Aditi Chaturvedi:
Patho, Pharmac, PSM , short subjects

DAMS: What was your strategy for the exam day? How many questions did you attempt and why?
Dr.Aditi Chaturvedi:
245/250 in JIPMER and all in MHCET because I think making some educated guesses by eliminating options is a most.

DAMS: What do you want to specialize in, why and where?
Dr.Aditi Chaturvedi:
Radiology from Sion or Tata, as I wish to pursue interventional radiology.

DAMS: Which teachers in DAMS influenced you most and what do you like about DAMS and would recommend to your juniors?
Dr.Aditi Chaturvedi:
DAMS has seen of greatest help Dr Sumer Sethi, Dr Varun Gupta , Dr Ruchi Rai, Dr Rajiv Tiwari, Dr Siddharth Sethi are fantastic teachers. I would definitely recommend DAMS to my juniors due to the comprehensive coverage of all subject and personal attention given.
