He secured Rank 82 IN DNB CET Nov 2012
DAMS: Congratulations on securing a good ranks. What is the secret of your success in this exam?
Dr. Anup Biswas:
Consistency & Hard work are the pillars.
DAMS: How did your parents, family and friends contribute to your success?
Dr. Anup Biswas:
Parents are my real motivation. Friends helped me lot in gaining confidence in myself.
DAMS: Who influenced you to take up Medicine?
Dr. Anup Biswas:
My Father.
DAMS: We appreciate the fact that preparing for an extremely competitive exam must be really challenging. During your preparation, did you ever doubt your ability to succeed in it?
Dr. Anup Biswas:
Yes, sometimes, AIIMS & PGI are really tough exams. Getting three digits ranks again & again in such exams sometimes breaks all.
DAMS:  Which books did you read for the theory part?
Dr. Anup Biswas:
Across & Roams are helpful.
DAMS: Which books did you read for MCQ revision? Which revision books were the most productive and which were least?
Dr. Anup Biswas:  
Notes are must during days before exams. Nothing can substitute it.
DAMS : How important you think was DAMS in your preparation ?
Dr. Anup Biswas:
DAMS, CBT is the first of its Kind, which helps students gets used to the new examination pattern of NBE.
DAMS: What do you think is the better way of preparation between selective, intensive study and wide, extensive study? What did you choose as your style of studying?
Dr. Anup Biswas:
Wide extensive study helps in all exams.
DAMS: Indian PG entrances are highly competitive so to compete them students end up in appearing in multiple PG exams , kindly extend your views on this and also their pros and cons of appearing in multiple PG entrances .
Dr. Anup Biswas:
Multiple entrance exams are just a waste of time and energy. Student’s feels very uncomfortable to go to various centres for appearing these exams and finally end up in skipping some of it like AIIMS & PGI. All the institutions should come under some NEET exams (if conducted on some date & one paper).
DAMS: Which subjects did you focus on?
Dr. Anup Biswas:
Anatomy, Biochem, Pharma, Radio & Dermat are factual questions.
DAMS: What was your strategy for the exam day? How many questions did you attempt and why?
Dr. Anup Biswas:
I attempted 177/180 questions and I tried to mark correctly in foirst attempt and to leave very less questions for REVIEWING as it can backfire and confuse. I believe 1st instinct is always correct.
DAMS: What do you want to specialize in, why and where?
Dr. Anup Biswas:
I want to specialise in Radiology in Mumbai because its near to my home and very good exposure.
DAMS: Which teachers in DAMS influenced you most and what do you like about DAMS and would recommend to your juniors?
Dr. Anup Biswas:
Dr. Sumer sir’s influenced me a lot.
