Dr.ARVINDER WANDER did his MBBS from CMC,LUDHIANA and joined DAMS Test & Discussion course

He secured Rank 2469 AIR in NEET  PG 2012
58 IN PUNJAB PG 2013 Exam

DAMS: Congratulations on securing a good rank. What is the secret of your success in this exam?
Dr. Arvinder Wander:
…. REGULARITY…..hard work and continues focus……

DAMS: How did y:our parents, family and friends contribute to your success?
Dr. Arvinder Wander…
my family gave moral…..friends gave motivational as well as competitive influence…
DAMS: Who influenced you to take up Medicine?
Dr. Arvinder Wander:
……my parents…..
DAMS: We appreciate the fact that preparing for an extremely competitive exam must be really challenging. During your preparation, did you ever doubt your ability to succeed in it?
Dr. Arvinder Wander:
…many times..i doubt myself when I performed bad in weekly tests….but I never gave up….one thing is sure if someone studies one full year seriously…it cant go waste.
DAMS:  Which books did you read for the theory part?
Dr. Arvinder Wander:
I did not read much theory books during MBBS….but focused on theory part of MCQ books…during preparation.

DAMS: Which books did you read for MCQ revision? Which revision books were the most productive and which were least?
Dr. Arvinder Wander:
….. AA, medicine, surgery across both volumes….across is too much need to be studied smartly….so across was bit less productive….

DAMS: How important you think was DAMS in your preparation ?
Dr. Arvinder Wander:
….T &D batches are fabulous within 4 hrs of superfast class u can revise your whole topic of discussion…moreover T & D syllabus distribution is very good….so even if someone thinks that he does not want long classes……..T & D batches are good option for them…for me DAMS was a good boosting dose for me to remind me where I stands and where others do….
DAMS: What do you think is the better way of preparation between selective, intensive study and wide, extensive study? What did you choose as your style of studying?
Dr. Arvinder Wander:
…. during preparative days selective...study with maximum no. of revisions is best..
DAMS: Indian PG entrances are highly competitive so to compete them students end up in appearing in multiple PG exams , kindly extend your views on this and also their pros and cons of appearing in multiple PG entrances .
Dr. Arvinder Wander:
…multiple exams gave you more chances…but if NEET HAPPENS IN FUTURE It will be best as if chances of getting desired branch will b more and more….
DAMS: Which subjects did you focus on?
Dr. Arvinder Wander:
…. short subjects mainly…..but now trends need Ist year and final year subjects to be more strong than short and other subjects…
DAMS: What was your strategy for the exam day? How many questions did you attempt and why?
Dr. Arvinder Wander:
I ATTEMPED 237/240…left 3 …which I was sure to not to guess even…because if we get equal marks lesser negative will get more CREDIT.
DAMS: What do you want to specialize in, why and where?
Dr. Arvinder Wander:
….dermatology….DMC AND H LUDHIANA….IF NOT GETTING THIS THEN WILL TAK PAEDRIATRICS.

DAMS: Which teachers in DAMS influenced you most and what do you like about DAMS and would recommend to your juniors?
Dr. Arvinder Wander:
……. almost all…everyone knows Dr. Sumer Sethi, surgery sir, opthal mam, medicine sir, ortho sir, Biochem mam, physio mam & Pharma sir. Really excellent teaching faculty of DAMS…even DAMS exclusive club is good as it helped me a lot to clear my doubts…
