DAMS: Congratulations on securing a  good  ranks. What is the secret of your success in this exam?
Dr. Arpit Garg:
Constant hard work with blessings from my parents, support from other family members and some special ones.
DAMS: How did your parents, family and friends contribute to your success?
Dr. Arpit Garg:
Their contribution to my rank is even more than mine. Without their support it would not have been possible to score 100th part of this.
DAMS: Who influenced you to take up Medicine?
Dr. Arpit Garg:
It’s my interest in reading Harrisson’s.
DAMS: We appreciate the fact that preparing for an extremely competitive exam must be really challenging. During your preparation, did you ever doubt your ability to succeed in it?
Dr. Arpit Garg:
never. Hardwork always pays. There is a saying which always inspired me “karm kar itna ki khuda tere se khud puche bata teri raza kya hai”.
DAMS:  Which books did you read for the theory part?
Dr. Arpit Garg:
Its dams class notes which are most helpful. Other than this I read amit ashish, mk, across

DAMS : Which books did you read for MCQ revision? Which revision books were the most productive and which were least?
Dr. Arpit Garg:
amit ashish and mk were good. But now I think across is better for neet pattern.

DAMS : How important you think was DAMS in your preparation ?
Dr. Arpit Garg:
DAMS has played a very important role in my rank. Without DAMS it wouldn’t have been possible to score this rank.
DAMS: What do you think is the better way of preparation between selective, intensive study and wide, extensive study? What did you choose as your style of studying?
Dr. Arpit Garg:
it should be selective intensive study but with concepts. And it shouldn’t be too selective. Individual books are must to do.
DAMS: Indian PG entrances are highly competitive so to compete them students end up in appearing in multiple PG exams, kindly extend your views on this and also their pros and cons of appearing in multiple PG entrances .
Dr. Arpit Garg:
appearing in multiple exams is of no use. Just concentrate on one main exam and give one or two more exams to be on safer side. Do go on giving multiple private college exams. Its total useless.
DAMS: Which subjects did you focus on?
Dr. Arpit Garg:
first prof and second Prof Subjects are very important. These are the rank determining subjects. Clinical subjects may somewhat improve your rank. SPM is very imp.
DAMS: What was your strategy for the exam day? How many questions did you attempt and why?
Dr. Arpit Garg:
there was no negative marking so I attempted all the ques. and first instinct is not always correct. Always go through the questions again and think twice or thrice in especially those questions which appear to be very easy.
DAMS: What do you want to specialize in, why and where?
Dr. Arpit Garg:
Medicine. It’s just because of my interest in this branch. From the best college where I can get it.

DAMS: Which teachers in DAMS influenced you most and what do you like about DAMS and would recommend to your juniors?
Dr. Arpit Garg:
Dr Sumer Sethi is the best.
DAMS class notes are the best. These are rally concise and very high yielding. Most of the ques in the exam were from the notes only.
My sincere advice to my juniors is that if you have joined DAMS then go with the DAMS. Don’t lag behind because if you do then you will be behind in your exam also. Competition is very tough so constant and heavy hardwork is the key to crack it.
